  HOW SHOULD I EXAMINE THE EXTERIOR & INTERIORS OF THE CAR?

  Here are some points to lookout for while purchasing a used car:

  • Look for signs of an accident, such as dents or new paint or chrome.
  • Make sure the hood shuts properly and the panels don’t have gaps or any deformation.
  • Check the body for rust or fill.
  • Check for cracks in the frame, rusting or welding.
  • Also check the condition of the muffler, tailpipe and exhaust components.
  • Look for signs of fluids leaking from the car, including oil, brake or transmission fluid.
  • Lift the hood and check the condition of the belts and hoses.
  • Check for any cracks in the battery and test the dipstick oil level and see if it's dirty.
  • Ensure that all the parts and accessories, such as lights, horn, mirrors, seatbelts, radio, heater and windows work.
  • Make sure doors open and close easily, and that handles, and locks work well.
  • Check the dimmer switch, headlights and windshield washer.

  DO I NEED AN APPOINTMENT FOR AN EVALUATION TO CHECK MY CAR’S WORTH?

  Our doors are always open to you, so there’s no need for an appointment if you decide to visit our U Trust store. For a free doorstep evaluation of your car, you need to contact us and book an appointment. The evaluation process is quick and will take about 30 minutes before you receive a quote from us.

  How do you determine the value of my car?

  First, we will check all your documents before checking the car itself. We check the paint and body for signs of previous body repair and frame or flood damage. Paint and paint lines, overspray, body putty, dents and scratches as well as any frame damage will also affect your car's value. We’re stringent about our evaluation as the next owners of your car should feel just as amazing owning it, which is why we don't resell any frame-damaged vehicles. Lastly, we test drive your car to determine its mechanical condition. Excessive mileage, ownership and wear and tear may lower your car's value and decrease its resale value.

  Will you explain how you evaluate my car?

  If you have any questions about the evaluation of your car, speak with our evaluator who has conducted the evaluation. Our evaluators are transparent about the evaluation process, and will give you all the details, including what they looked for and what impacted your car's value.

  WHAT IF MY CAR IS HYPOTHECATED WITH A FINANCE COMPANY & I OWE MORE ON MY CAR THAN THE AMOUNT OF YOUR OFFER?

  If your car is hypothecated with a finance company, it can’t be sold until the full loan amount is paid back. You need to collect a Foreclosure Statement from the finance company to know about the pay-off amount at the time of selling your car. You can either pay the pay-off amount or Toyota U Trust will pay on your behalf and you will receive the balance amount against the delivery of the car along with the relevant original documents. Also, Toyota U Trust will hold a small amount for the NOC, which will be given to you against the NOC issued by the finance company. If your pay-off amount is more than the value of your car, we’ll calculate the difference between your pay-off and our offer to you. We'll accept a cash or demand draft in favour of the finance company for the difference in amount and then pay off your loan to the company for you. Please note that you might be asked to visit the finance company office along with our evaluator to close the loan as this is a requirement by the financier.

  What happens to the cars Toyota U Trust buys?

  Once we purchase your car after evaluation, it is refurbished and serviced before being sold at our stores. When we sell, we verify the status of the buyer and ensure that documentation for transfer is handled properly. Proof of transferred RC is kept in our records and can be sent to you for your reference on demand.

  Can I trade in my leased car?

  In most cases, you can trade in your leased vehicle in almost the same way as any other financed vehicle. Please note that some leasing companies will not allow you to sell the vehicle prior to the expiration of the lease.

  WHAT CRITERIA SHOULD I MEET TO AVAIL A PRE-OWNED CAR LOAN?

  You just need to meet the following criteria to be able to avail a loan.

  • You should be a salaried individual within the age of 21 to 60 years (at the end of the tenure)
  • Or a self-employed individual within the age of 21 to 65 years (at the end of the tenure)
  • Partnership Firms, Public & Private Ltd. companies and HUFs and Trusts can also avail loans.

  KINDS OF CARS CAN BE FINANCED?

  This depends on the financier’s discretion as well as the model and year of manufacturing of the car. We can assist you in choosing a car that can be financed and meets the criteria of your financier.

  How much finance amount can I avail on a car?

  You can get up to 80% of the car value, but this is at the discretion of your financial institution.

  What are the loan tenure options?

  Pre-owned cars can be financed for 12 to 60 months.

  HOW IS THE INTEREST AMOUNT CALCULATED?

  Interest is calculated on the basis of monthly reducing balance.

  Do I have to pay any additional charges?

  Yes, all financial institutional charge a “processing fee”, which varies from institution to institution.

  MUCH TIME WILL IT TAKE FOR MY LOAN TO BE APPROVED?

  Loan processing is usually a quick process. Once the complete set of documents is submitted it will take approximately 72 hours for your bank to process the payment.

  WHO CAN BE THE CO-APPLICANTS FOR MY LOAN?

  Your spouse or any blood relative staying in the same residence can be a co-applicant. This is required if your income is not justifying your loan amount.

  Any guarantor required?

  No, it is not mandatory, but a few financers also extend loan facilities based on your guarantor.

  WHAT IS THE LOAN REPAYMENT PROCESS?

  Your loan can be repaid through equal monthly installment (EMI’s) either through Post Dated Cheques (PDC’s) or through ECS facility if available.

  CAN I FORECLOSE MY LOAN BEFORE THE COMPLETION OF ITS FULL TENURE?

  Yes, but only after the completion of the first 6 months. Your foreclosure fee can vary from 3-6% of the outstanding principal.
